To configure the cookie banner, log in to the control panel through your client profile » GDPR Protect » Settings » Login to GDPR Protect / iubenda.
Click Generate now (or Edit in the Privacy Controls and Cookie Solution section if you have already generated the banner).
Territorial scope
You will be prompted to select where you are located and where your users are located to set the territorial scope of your site/app.
Here you can choose one of the predefined options for your users’ location or select a custom list of countries.
Once you are done, click Confirm and Proceed.
Compliance settings
The configurator preselects compliance settings that may apply to your specific case based on your choices.
You can still adjust the preset settings by toggling the buttons.
Our system provides you with explanations and suggestions when you make choices that may lead to compliance issues.
In this example, if you have selected that you or your users are in Europe and disable the GDPR setting, the configurator will indicate a potential compliance issue.
Our automated configurations are set to comply with the strictest requirements of major international laws and regulations, but you can change each individual setting by clicking Edit at the bottom of each box.
Style and text
In this section you will find the settings and graphic elements for the banner design.
Any changes you make will be displayed immediately in the preview area on the right side of the page. You can also switch between different views (desktop, tablet, mobile), display the banner in other languages
Make sure you select the correct region from the drop-down menu to ensure that the preview displays correctly and according to each compliance and territorial scope setting.
You can manage and customize every element of the banner.
Click Edit at the bottom of each box to:
- Change the banner position and add an optional “lightbox” effect via the background overlay feature in the format and position configuration.
- Edit the font size and customize the banner with your content in the Text section.
- Change the visual appearance of the banner, such as the colors of the banner and buttons, or choose between a dark or light theme, or from a set of preset themes. Customize the header with your brand colors and logo.
- Remove iubenda branding in the “Cookie Policy” and “Consent Preferences” components with the White Label option.
- Customize the privacy widget. You can set a link of your choice to allow users to easily access and edit their privacy preferences.
Advanced settings
Clicking on Advanced settings will open a full list of advanced options that will allow you to customize everything from the banner animation, the cookie policy link text, the buttons and banner content to the CSS code, cookie expiration time, and callbacks.
Next step
Once you have gone through all the previous steps, you will have a complete overview and summary of your choices.
You can always go back and change the settings in the relevant section.
When you are ready and want to continue, click Complete the configuration.
And you are done!
Clicking Complete the configuration will take you to the embed page where you can copy the banner code. You can then embed the banner into your website by placing the generated code in <head> HTML tag as the first element.
