<\/span>Installing a PEAR Package<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Automatic Installation in cPanel<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\"PHPPEAR Packages are automatically installed in\u00a0cPanel<\/strong>\u00a0-> (Software)\u00a0PHP PEAR Packages<\/strong>. In this menu you can view a list of all installed packages or add new ones.<\/p>\n

The packages are stored into the following directory:<\/p>\n

\/home\/cpuser\/php
\n<\/strong>(cpuser<\/strong> – cPanel username)<\/p>\n

Manual Installation via FTP or File Manager<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Another option is uploading the PEAR package in your hosting account manually. A full list of all downloadable packages is available at: http:\/\/pear.php.net\/packages.php<\/p>\n

Afterwards, you can upload the package into your hosting account via FTP or File Manager.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Using a PEAR Package<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

After the package has been installed into your hosting account, you first need to specify this in the PHP application\/script.<\/p>\n

Normally that can be done with the appropriate PHP functions such as: \u00a0include()<\/em>,\u00a0include_once()<\/em> or\u00a0require_once()<\/em>. For example:<\/p>\n

require_once '\/home\/cpuser\/php\/PHPUnit.php';<\/pre>\n
\/home\/cpuser\/php<\/strong> – full path to the PEAR package directory;<\/div>\n
When the PEAR package directory is not included in the PHP system path, you need to type in the full path to the executable file.<\/p>\n
Adding the PEAR Package Directory to the PHP System Path<\/strong><\/h4>\n
The include_path<\/a> directive in\u00a0php.ini<\/strong>\u00a0is used to specify directories where the require, include, fopen(), file(), readfile() and file_get_contents() functions will search for files. The syntax for this path will be identical to the PATH environment variable.<\/p>\n

If the PEAR package is installed in the\u00a0\/home\/cpuser\/php<\/strong> directory, you should only add “\/home\/cpuser\/php<\/strong>” to the include_path in php.ini:<\/p>\n

If there is a value already entered for this directive (for example “.:\/usr\/lib\/php:\/usr\/local\/lib\/php”) then you should add the PEAR package path with a colon in front. For example:<\/p>\n
include_path = \".:\/usr\/lib\/php:\/usr\/local\/lib\/php:\/home\/cpuser\/php\"<\/pre>\n
\/home\/cpuser\/php<\/strong> – the full path to the PEAR package directory; cpuser<\/strong> – replace it with the cPanel user;<\/div>\n
After the package directory has been added to include_path in php.ini, \u0430 certain package functionality can be called only with the name of its executable file. For example:<\/p>\n

Setting up include_path Directly in a PHP Script<\/strong><\/p>\n
The include path can be set up or changed directly in the called script with a set_include_path()<\/a> function or ini_set()<\/a> that is properly working in all available PHP versions. For example:<\/p>\n
