To activate SSL (secure connection) for your WordPress website, you will need an SSL certificate<\/a>. You might use the already purchased and issued SSL certificate or an AutoSSL certificate<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To use an AutoSSL certificate for your website you do not need to perform further actions. AutoSSL certificates are automatically installed<\/a> for all domains added in cPanel and redirected to this hosting server. You can check if the domain already has an AutoSSL certificate installed in cPanel \u00bb SSL\/TLS Status<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have an SSL certificate, different from AutoSSL, proceed with the installation through cPanel \u00bb SSL\/TLS \u00bb Manage SSL sites. After the certificate has been installed, launch the tool in cPanel \u00bb WordPress Manager \u00bb SSL (https:\/\/)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Configuring SSL Installation (https)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If there is a certificate installed for the website’s domain, but the website doesn’t load over HTTPS, in WordPress Manager \u00bb SSL (https:\/\/)<\/strong> you will see Configure installation with SSL (https)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon clicking this button the website will be configured to work with SSL (https).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note<\/strong>: If there is no Configure installation with SSL (https)<\/strong> button and the certificate status is inactive, check Certificate Details in cPanel \u00bb SSL\/TLS \u00bb Manage SSL sites<\/strong>. If there is a Self-signed certificate installed for the domain – uninstall it and then initiate issuing an AutoSSL certificate through cPanel \u00bb SSL\/TLS Status<\/strong> \u00bb Run AutoSSL<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If AutoSSL did not complete the installation of an SSL certificate you will see a red alert message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remove any problems AutoSSL has experienced during certificate installation for the domain so that the next issuing procedure is successful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon successful SSL configuration for the website you will get a confirmation message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the Preview<\/strong> option you can view details about the installed certificate such as issuer, expiry date and domain name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This SSL certificate might be deactivated from Deactivate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note<\/strong>: You can also delete the certificate from this option. However, it is possible that it is also being used by other applications, loaded through the domain of this WordPress Installation. For example: mysupersite.com\/joomla, mysupersite.com\/dir\/cms or others. Deleting an SSL certificate might affect these applications’ activities. If you wish to migrate from HTTPS to HTTP, do not check the Delete certificate<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your website has internal or external resources, loaded over a non-encrypted connection (HTTP), despite the AutoSSL installation some browsers will display a warning message and they might block these resources. All resources must be loaded via an encrypted connection (HTTPS) so that these messages are not displayed. Find more information on how to check if your website contains such resources on our help page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To check whether your website has some resources loaded over an HTTP connection use the “Check for HTTP resources (loaded on HTTPS website) link to this section<\/a>” option. By doing this you can edit the HTTP resources in your websites so that they start loading via HTTPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
