Modifying an Existing Email Account
To open the settings for an existing email account in Outlook 2016, click File then go to Account Settings and from the drop-down menu once again select Account Settings.
In the pop-up window select your email account and click Change.
To view the ports for the incoming and outgoing mail server, click on More Settings and select the Advanced tab.
Adding a New Email Account
If you have already added an email account or closed the first window, open the File menu and click Add Account.
In the window loaded enter the full email address, in Advanced Options select the Enable Manual Setup option and click Connect.
Wait a few seconds until MS Outlook proceeds.
For the account type, you need to select IMAP.
In the IMAP Account Settings… window you need to check data for the incoming/outgoing mail server.
Incoming Mail:
Server: enter the hosting server or your domain name
Port: 993
Encryption method: SSL/TLS
Require login through…: leave this unchecked;
Outgoing mail:
Server: enter the hosting server or your domain name
Port: 465
Encryption method: SSL/TLS
Require login through…: leave this unchecked;
After entering all the required information, click Connect.
In the next window you need to enter the email account password.
- You can enter the domain name or the server name where your account is hosted.
- Fill in the full email address.
- Enter the email account password.
- To avoid entering your password every time you log in, select the Save to my password list option.
Continue by clicking ОК. If the window appears again, type once more the email account password. You can copy and paste it in case the window pops up.
Continue with OK. If this window appears again – enter the password for the email account again. You can copy it in advance and only put it in the window when it appears.
Complete the email account setup by clicking ОК.
You will receive a test email from Outlook in your new email inbox.
